On December 3rd 2012 we attended the 1st Salón Gourmet (Gourmet Fair) in Granada. There we had the chance to taste 6 local wines from 2 different wineries, Muñana and Jabalcón, both from the Granada province.
We really enjoyed the young wine “Delirio” from Muñana, a 100% syrah with a beautiful wild berries aroma. The “crianza” (aging time: 6 months in American oak) “Cerrojo” from Jabalcón was a good pair to the delicious Serrano ham we tasted from Nevadensis.
This very good quality ham is low in salt. Its aging only involves sea salt and time… nothing else! There were many other typical products such as cold meats, cheeses, traditional pastries, breads, jams, cakes, chocolates, pistachios and rum from our region. All these products are locally made, and you can taste the care, passion and know-how that go into each one of them!
